A Campus In the City

Albertville, «town of art and history», City of the Winter Olympic Games in 1992
345—2037 m

The site of Albertville was founded during the Roman period. Since that time, located at the heart of four alpine valleys: the Combe de Savoie, the Tarantaise, the Val d’Arly and the Beaufortain, it has always been a place of cultural exchange and ideas.

Close to the Roman city, King Charles-Albert built a strategic city in 1836 , « the city of Albert », and it became a hub for commercial exchange between France, Italy and Switzerland.

Albertville is also well known for its beautiful mountains, famous local ski resorts and more notedly as the city that welcomed the Winter Olympic Games in 1992!

In 2003, Albertville was awarded the title of “Town of Art and History”.

The CCEF campus is settled right in the middle of town, in a peaceful area, close to children schools, libraries, bookstores, movie theaters, little markets, parks and the town hall.

Choose CCEF

The Centre Chrétien d'Enseignement du Français (CCEF) is a Christian French language school founded in 1967 by the Rev. Jacques A. Blocher (1909-1986) in connection with the Mission Evangélique des Alpes Françaises, and is drected by an independent board of directors. The CCEF functions as a French language school for Christians who are preparing to serve in French-speaking countries.

The CCEF program directly aims at preparing missionaries to work in a French speaking environment. Therefore, Biblical vocabulary, sermons and songs conducted in French along with specific lectures on French culture and French particularities are included in the curriculum.

CCEF places a high value on family life. We desire that the school enviroment be as simple and pleasant as possible. That's why most of the families live on-campus, close to the classrooms and to the local schools for the children. Moreover, our schedule coincides with the primary school schedule so that parents and their children's schedules can be more easily coordinated.

We are unique!

The CCEF is:

  • Experienced: We have been training missionaries since 1967.
  • Service Oriented: CCEF aims to adapt to the specific needs of people from different backgrounds willing to minister in French-speaking context.
  • A vital link: in the chain of missionary preparation.
  • Offering Biblical and theological vocabulary lectures.
  • A cross point to meet French evangelical leaders.
  • Developing a strong program including sermon and Bible study curriculum.
  • A place to learn the French you will actually use!

DOCTRINE

The Scriptures are divinely inspired and are entirely trustworthy. They are the sole and supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct.

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one God in three distinct persons, who are co-eternal and perfectly equal in power and glory.

Since man’s fall, human nature has been completely sinful and is thereby liable to the punishment of God.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. By his death on the cross, he suffered this punishment in our place. His atoning death is the sole means of salvation, by which God grants us eternal life and deliverance from the power of sin.

Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven’s glory in the presence of his disciples. He will return in the same manner to execute the judgment of God and to establish his reign.

The work of the Holy Spirit is necessary to grant believers repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. By his presence, the Spirit accomplishes God’s purpose in the believer.

The universal Church is composed of all believers and constitutes the body of Christ.

Our Heritage

French is spoken in more than 54 countries, is the 4th most spoken language on the internet and a main international exchange language.

For 3 centuries, missionaries have needed to learn French to make the gospel reachable to millions of people. Rev. Jacques A. Blocher (1909-1984) is the founder of the CEF. He had a vision for spreading the Gospel. He was Billy Graham's translator when he came to France and was also the president of the Mission Biblique, a mission that works in the Ivory Coast and Haiti. He is the founder of the French Speaking Evangelical Missions Federation.

In 1960, he saw the need for missionaries willing to learn French to find a place dedicated for their training and development.

At that time, missionaries were struggling in big cities, having to face expensive lodging, necessary transportation to go to school and difficult family situations.

That is why he founded the AFEB, Association Française d’Enseignement Biblique (French Association for Biblical Teaching), whose usual name is "CCEF".

The school is located in a quiet place, nestled in the lovely French Alps, in a region rich for its history and culture.

Since 1967, we have welcomed more than 2000 students. All of whom have had the opportunity to minister in French around the world.
